Hello, my name is Lenora. I came to Canada with the support of my sister, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. Prior to migrating, I completed a program in Office Administration back home, which provided me with valuable skills and a solid foundation for my career. Upon arriving in Canada, I furthered my education by re-enrolling in college to study Business Administration and Management. This academic pursuit helped me enhance my skills, broaden my knowledge, and prepare for new career opportunities. Currently, I am working full-time at the University of Calgary, assisting students in reaching their academic and personal goals. I am also proud to be part of the Program Advising Team in the Faculty of Science, supporting over seven thousand students.

Helping others has always been my passion, and my journey to Canada has only strengthened that commitment. Over the years, I have dedicated time to volunteering in Calgary, which I now call home. The most rewarding aspect of my work and volunteer is knowing that I have made a positive difference in other people’s lives. It brings me great satisfaction to see others succeed and reunite with their loved ones, inspiring me every day.

My offer to OPC is to leverage my experience in academic advising field. To help cultivate a society where education, volunteerism and community engagement intersect to create inclusive, resilient communities.
